As a form of compliance with the Kyoto Protocol and the awareness of climate change issues, Indonesian Government through Pontianak Municipality has built Landfill Gas Project under CDM Scenario in cooperation with Private Sector. The Project, built in 2007 aims to reduce methane emission as well as achieve emission reduction revenue under a carbon trade scheme to improve Pontianak Solid Waste Management and Community Development in the surrounding area.
In the research, it is found that the voluntary water committees have high influence in the operation and maintenance of water infrastructure. Strong and adequate motivation of the voluntary water committee continued membership and commitment to perform the tasks satisfactorily are an important factor to strengthen and to sustain the effective operation and maintenance of the water infrastructure.

The development is strategic fordeveloping regions through local community empowerment-based participation.The purposes of this study are to find out effectiveness in the implementation of the activities of PNPM Mandiri-RESPEK, and to identify factors affecting its less successful implementation of activities in Heram District Jayapura Municipality.
