Planning Studio 1

Planning Studio 1 is a course where students learn to practice planning according to their preference theme and specialization. These practices include data collection activities, analysis, and planning simulation for certain area. 

Planning Studio 1: Urban Housing Planning and Development Policy

In this course the students will practice / simulate the policy of urban settlement planning and development.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Affective: able to evaluate the content and progress of existing urban housing-planning implementation 
  2. Psychomotor: students are able to:
    • identifying problems and potential of urban housing
    • set the objectives of urban housing planning based on the (spatial and development) regulation hierarchy in Indonesia
    • preparing plans / programs for the implementation of urban housing planning and development

Spatial Theory

This course gives students an understanding of space concept within the urban and region scale. The course will begin with an introduction to space and spatial context, as well as elements and factors which affects the spatial including the interaction between humans and others. Student also given an understanding of spatial system analysis and the synthesis process, as well as the application of spatial strategies and policies, institutional, and spatial management, with various case of analysis and spatial plan. read more

Planning Theory

This course provides students with knowledge on the history and planning theory paradigm within urban and regional planning context including the people who is working within it. Students will also be given a deeper knowledge about theory of planning and theory in planning. 

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Cognitive: able to mention and explain the various of planning paradigm and thought from planner figures
  2. Affective: able to evaluate, compare, and criticize the application of planning paradigm in group practice
  3. Psychomotor: able to propose and argue application of concept, model and process of planning, and planning practice in socio-political context in Indonesia

Development Theory

Compulsory CourseCourse Minggu, 7 Juli 2019

This course provides knowledge of the development theory and paradigm with its implications for development practices in Indonesia. Students will also be invited to think critically to development theories that exist in Indonesia and formulate a more effective solution.

In this course, students become active participants by giving presentations in class for each week according to the designed topics.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Cognitive: able to explain the concept, theory, and development paradigm
  2. Affective: able to criticize the implications of the use of concepts, theories and development paradigms from Indonesian experience as well as several other countries
  3. Psychomotor: able to propose and argue innovative idea of solving development problems based on certain theory/concept
