MURP – UGM. The increasing conversion of agricultural land, especially rice fields causes reduction in the production of food (rice) significantly. Safeguard sustainable food farming land has been carried out by local governments with local regulations. However, the rules established included the location and distribution of food farming land and food diverse land yet.

Identification Model Region Sustainable Food Agriculture (KP2B) In Ngawi. by the author of brothers: Wahyudi NIM: 14/370974 / PTK / 9773. Main supervisor: M. Sani Roychansyah, S.T., M. Eng., D. Eng Companion Supervisor: Ir. Mount Radjiman, M.Sc.

The major problem is the lack of identification of a model in sustainable food farming region in a ccordance with the needs of the field. This research aims to identify wetland projected needs, formulate model of identification sustainable food farming region, and identify the model chosen for determination sustainable food farming region in Ngawi.

The reserach have conductedin Ngawi District, East Java Province. The research uses modeling approach with combined method (mix-method) though the Geographic Information System (GIS) and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The model formulated make up model which starts from existing method that have been done by previous researchers. Existing methods are then modified by using the assumption of maximization and minimization through theoretical study, then processed using GIS with three deliniation concept (administrative boundaries, spatial contiguity, and maximum coverage) until resulting the formulation of the proposed method of identification sustainable food farming land. The formulation of the identification that is formed then tested through 1st FGD and conducted of improvements, the result is a model identification of sustainable food farming region. The model then selected through 2nd FGD involves various elements of local government, parliament, academia, and farmer groups.

The result of the research showed: the needs of Ngawi’s wetland for 20 years later is still adequate for domestic consumption; methods can be used for identification of sustainable food farming region consists of Marasi, Maguity, Marage, Mirasi, Miguitu, and Mirage. Model of Marasi (Maximasi and administrative boundaries) using variabels and assumptionn that the productivity of the land for producing the rice > 3 tonnes/ha, cropping index 2 times/year, status of land support power under condition of sustained/conditional sustain, status of water support power undur condition of sustained/conditional sustain/overshoot, irrigation status with irrigation technical / semi technical/ simple irrigation, suitability of land has a very appropriate status/ appropriate, and deliniation using administrative
boundaries; Model of Marasi is a moderate method which has chosen as a model identification sustainable food farming region in Ngawi by stakeholder because it is considered in a accordance with the need.

Keywords: Conversion of Agricultural Land, Sustainable Food Farming Region, Model, Geographic Information System (GIS).
