MPKD UGM. Monday, April 17, 2017 in B1 and B2, 1st Floor, South Wing Building Department of Architecture and Planning, there was Discussion Series with Prof. Ir. Achmad Djunaedi, MUP., Ph.D entitled “How to Prepare Research Proposals”.
This discussion were held in 4 sections:
- Introduction & Understanding
- General Term of Research Process
- Thesis Research Proposal Flow
- The correlation between Objectives and Research Methods (Flow Selection of Research Methods)
In the first section, Prof. Achmad Djunaedi presented about the basic, kinds, including the paradigm and some research methods approach. In addition, there are also discussion about the differences between the research and design process. Section 2 is filled with the explanation about general processes in conducting research, from research proposals preparation, data acquisition and analysis, then presentations of the results and widely dissemination. This section was emphasized in how to make a research plan that in line with the research rule: the sharpening of the research problem and the research theme check so that the research has clear and sharp of its state of the art, the benefits checks, scope check, and depth checks. This section provides an understanding of how to make a good research plan.
In section 3, the discussion was filled with detailed explanation of thesis drafting process. Generally, section 3 was an applicative part of the previous section. This section focussed with the concept that a good research plan was expected to fill the gap of certain theory or concept. This discussion was closed with the conclusion about how to make the research method which consistent with the research theme/topic.
