Master Program in Urban and Regional Planning Universitas Gadjah Mada (MURP UGM)/Magister Perencanaan Wilayah dan Kota Universitas Gadjah Mada (MPWK UGM) proudly inform you that our study program and our long-term partner (since 2005), The Faculty of Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen (UG), the Netherlands has been developing the international-collaboration program: Double Degree Master (DDM). This program is combining material from Master Program in urban and regional planning at UGM with material from Master Program in Society, Sustainability and Planning (SSP) or Master Program in Environmental and Infrastructure Planning (EIP).
The DDM program is a four-semester master’s program incorporating a first year in MPWK UGM with 31 SKS credits and a second year in SSP/EIP University of Groningen with 60 ECTS credits. After completing the program, the student will be awarded two master’s degrees from MPWK UGM (MURP) and SSP/EIP University of Groningen (MSc). According to that, the master’s thesis will be supervised by SSP/EIP University of Groningen and co-supervised by MPWK UGM.
MURP UGM opens enrollment twice a year, in February and August intake, however, international students are highly recommended to join us in the August intake. We barely accept international students in February, thus, don’t miss this August 2024 intake opportunity. We will be happy to welcome you as soon as possible.

Therefore, you will need to prepare your own resources for your studies at the University of Groningen or secure a scholarship. |
Is there any scholarship available for my second year? Is there any priority for this program students? | We do not have a scholarship specifically for this program. However, the University of Groningen recommends the following scholarship to our students: https://www.rug.nl/education/master/international-students/financial-matters/holland-scholarship/?lang=en. What will happen if I failed to continue my second year at the University of Groningen? | You may continue your second year at MURP UGM.
