Open Street Map is a project that aims to create and distribute free and editable geographical data of the world. The data in the Open Street Map can be adopted and modified freely as the credit source of the Open Street Map is included.

There are also some good applications in smartphones / tablets that use data from Open Street Map. HOT itself is an international humanitarian organization focused on assisting vulnerable communities, including disaster cases, political crises including as sources for socio-economic development and disaster preparedness.

Some implementation of Open StreetMap usage is also done on spatial planning, rural area mapping. In addition, Open Street Map Indonesia with BNPB and AUSAid also developed the InaSAFE application. This plugin is used as a tool to measure the impact of disasters on affected areas.

Iyan closed this public lecture session by inviting public lecture participants to contribute to developing and using the Open StreetMap Indonesia platform as a tool to share with the public in the context of spatial planning.
