Students from the Urban and Regional Planning Master’s Program (MPWK) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a field survey in various locations in West Java from February 24 to 28, 2025. This activity is part of the academic curriculum designed to analyze potential and identify key issues for urban and regional development plans.

The field study was conducted in four selected locations: Cimahi City, Cibitung, Bekasi Regency, and Bogor City. These areas were chosen based on each studio group’s focus, with groups divided according to their interests in either city-scale or regional-scale planning.

During the fieldwork, students conducted direct surveys to collect primary data, providing concrete and detailed insights into existing conditions. This step is essential for gaining a comprehensive understanding of the area. In addition to the field surveys, students also requested secondary data and conducted interviews with local government officials to gather strategic information and deepen their understanding of the local context.

Findings from both field observations and institutional interviews will serve as a foundation for further analysis and the formulation of planning strategies within each studio group. With this integrated approach, the resulting development plans are expected to be more effective, efficient, and impactful for the community.
