Urban and Regional Planning Community of Universitas Gadjah Mada is going to conduct Urban Research Forum+ (URF+) which is an inclusive platform to facilitate academics, researchers, practitioners, and bureaucrats to share and enrich knowledge and experiences around sustainable urban transformation management. The main activity in URF is an Online Seminar Series which conduct regularly every month with the theme of  “Sustainable Urban Transformation in Indonesia: Towards Indonesia Emas 2045″.

Getting To Know The Postgraduate Program in Faculty of Engineering UGM 2021

On Thursday, April 8, 2021, the Faculty of Engineering conducted a webinar “Getting to know the UGM Faculty of Engineering Postgraduate Program” 2021. This event aims to introduce 24 postgraduate study programs, both master’s and doctoral levels. On this occasion, the Master Program in Urban and Regional Planning was represented by the Head of the MURP Study Program, Mr. Sani Roychansyah, explaining the teaching and learning process at MURP UGM, curriculum, admission process, and facilities owned by MPWK UGM. On this occasion also, the Doctoral Program in Urban and Regional Planning (DURP) introduced itself for the first time as a new study program at the doctoral level represented by the Head of the Study Program, Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono. The webinar participants were very enthusiastic and actively asked a lot of questions about the postgraduate study program in the Faculty of Engineering, including the MURP and DURP.

This journal is published twice a year, in April and October, by the Department of Architecture and Planning, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.   We welcome National and International contributors with manuscripts that cover topics including but not limited to: 1. Thesis and Dissertation Publication Incentive

According to SK Dekan FT No. 3270/H1.17/PS/2019, the Faculty of Engineering offers an incentive to the students who publish their thesis or dissertation on International or National Seminar and get titled The Best Paper/ The Best Poster/ The Best Speaker.

The requirements needed to apply for incentives are as follow:

  1. Recommendation letter from Head of Department
  2. Certificate as The Best Paper/The Best Poster/The Best Presenter
  3. The final publication that has been approved by the supervisor or promotor and contains the supervisor’s or promotor’s name, with affiliation Universitas Gadjah Mada
  4. The publication does not violate publication rules or ethics
  5. Scanned documents (Bank Account Passbook, Student card, ID card)

Discussion About COVID-19 Handling Process by Jabar Digital Service

On Monday, February 8, 2021, the Master in Urban and Regional Planning conducted an inaugural lecture by inviting Mr. Setiaji, S.T., M.Si, the Head of the West Java Communication and Information Office, as the speaker. The topic in this inaugural lecture was related to Smart City Dashboard Integration and Visualization with case studios on handling COVID-19 in West Java. Starting with an opening and remarks from the Head of the Department of Architecture and Planning, Mr. Deva Fosterharoldas, and the Head of the MPWK Study Program, Mr. Muhammad Sani Roychansyah, this lecture was attended by more than 200 participants consisting of undergraduate and postgraduate students of PWK and other teaching lecturers.

Smart City Public Lectures Series: Trends and Challenges in Urban and Regional Planning

The development of information technology in recent decades has given rise to a planning concept that has been widely discussed in recent years, called Smart City. Starting from the development of e-government in the 2000s until in 2017 the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology launch a Movement program towards 100 Smart Cities which aims to guide regency/city in preparing Smart City Master Plans so that they can maximize the use of technology, both in improving community services and accelerating existing potential in each region.

URF Seminar: Climate Change and Disaster: Implication for Indonesian Cities

In recent years, urban problems in Indonesia have become increasingly diverse, ranging from climate change, inadequate infrastructure, to the presence of COVID-19 in Indonesia this year, and the impact it causes. City resilience is an important aspect that needs attention to face this urban transformation. By understanding the city system holistically and take into account the risks that may face, a city can adapt to the impacts and changes that occur.

One of the ways is through research and innovations from various cross-disciplinary stakeholders. To support this, the Graduate Program of Urban and Regional Planning – Gadjah Mada University organized the Urban Research Forum (URF) which is a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and bureaucrats to share and enrich knowledge and experiences around urban transformation. The main activity in URF is a series of monthly online seminars in 2020 with the theme “Sustainable Urban Transformation in Indonesia: Gold Indonesia Towards 2045”. The first online seminar on Independence Month carries a special theme, namely “Climate Change and Disaster: Implications for Indonesian Cities”
