Double Degree Program

Description

The double/dual degree program organized by MURP UGM and its partner universities at the global level is a program designed to provide students in achieving a double degree education. This program is a representation of the two academic disciplines studied by students over a two-year period, namely the Urban and Regional Planning to obtain a MURP or Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree, as well as another specialization at partner campuses, to obtain certain specialist degrees such as M. Sc. or Master of Science.

Experiences

MURP UGM is already recognized in the execution of double degrees. Since 2000, 14 partners from Australia, the Netherlands, and Japan have been involved. There are 411 MURP UGM double degree students through 2022. The implemented double degree is also known by various names such as split-site, joint degree, connection, and sandwich. They all have the same aim in mind, to pursue dual-degree education.

All this time, the execution of the double degree program has been a partnership between MURP UGM and Bappenas (National Development Planning Agency) , namely Karyasiswa. Students select their preferred study program based on an agreement with Bappenas.
